Student Biography
Wangjae You is a 5th year student in the Architectural Engineering Program at The Pennsylvania State University. He will graduate in May 2015 with an Integrated Bachelor and Master of Architectural Engineering degree, with a focus in structures. Last February 2014, Wangjae passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and will gain Engineering-in-Training status after he graduates.
Wangjae participated in the Sede di Roma study abroad program in the summer of 2012 and obtained a minor in Architecture Studies. In the summer of 2014, Wangjae participated in an internship with Engineering Projects, Inc in State College, PA as a staff engineer. During his internship, he analyzed structural wood frame and concrete foundation design for more than 50 production build residential units in Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
Throughout his time at Penn State, Wangjae has been involved in variety of student organizations. In the 2010-2011 academic year at Penn State Behrend in Erie, Pa, he played with in Penn State Behrend Ice Hockey Club second team in the Collegiate Hockey Association (CHA). In the 2013-2014 academic year at Penn State, Wangjae was the treasurer of the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) The Pennsylvania State University Student Chapter. During his tim as treasurer, he helped to organize club meetings and events. Outside of school, Wangjae enjoys playing ice hockey, soccer, and golf.
